Chrome Extension — Send articles and videos to your e-reader
Effective: March 18, 2026
1 Acceptance of Terms
By installing or using the Bookbeam Chrome extension or any associated services (collectively, the "Service"),
you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the
Service.
The Service is operated by Michał Włosik EFC, ul. Północna 16/5, 54-105 Wrocław, Poland (NIP:
8942747708). In these Terms, "we", "us", and "our" refer to the operator. "You" refers to the individual
accessing or using the Service.
These Terms should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which
explains how we collect and use your data.
2 The Service
Bookbeam is a Chrome extension that converts web articles and YouTube video transcripts into EPUB files and
delivers them to your e-reader device. Supported delivery methods include Dropbox, Google Drive, e-reader email
(Kindle, Kobo, reMarkable, PocketBook), and a temporary download link.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without
notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of
the Service.
Bookbeam is a tool that helps you read content you already have access to on the web. It does not bypass
paywalls, circumvent digital rights management, or grant access to content you are not entitled to view.
3 Accounts and Registration
Some features of the Service require you to create an account. You may register with an email address and
password, or via Google OAuth. You agree to:
Provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.
Keep your login credentials secure and not share them with others.
Notify us immediately at hello@bookbeam.tools if you suspect
unauthorised access to your account.
Take responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. By registering, you confirm that you meet this age
requirement.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe
are being used fraudulently or abusively.
4 Plans, Trials, and Billing
4.1 Free Plan
Bookbeam offers a free plan with a limited number of daily sends. Free plan users may use the download link
delivery method only.
4.2 Power Trial
New accounts receive a 7-day Power Trial which provides access to all features and delivery methods at the
Power plan level. The trial begins on the date you create your account. No payment information is required to
start the trial. At the end of the trial period, your account automatically reverts to the Free plan.
4.3 Paid Plans
Bookbeam offers paid subscription plans (Reader and Power) which unlock higher daily send limits and additional
delivery methods. Subscriptions are billed on a monthly or annual basis via our payment processor, Polar.sh.
Prices are displayed at checkout and are inclusive of any applicable taxes where required.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled.
You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Polar.sh customer portal, accessible from the
extension settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; no partial refunds are
issued for unused time.
We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice. Price changes will not affect your current
billing period.
4.4 Refunds
Subscription fees are generally non-refundable. If you believe you have been charged in error, contact us at hello@bookbeam.tools within 14 days of the charge and we will review
your case.
4.5 Daily Limits
Each plan has a daily limit on the number of articles and YouTube videos you can send. These limits reset at
midnight UTC each day. Limits are enforced server-side and cannot be transferred between content types or days.
5 Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with these Terms. You must
not:
Use the Service to convert or distribute content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights,
including copyrighted articles or videos you do not have a licence to reproduce.
Attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with any security features, access controls, or rate limits of
the Service.
Use automated scripts, bots, or other tools to access the Service in a manner that exceeds normal human
usage or places unreasonable load on our infrastructure.
Use the Service to send unsolicited communications or spam to e-reader addresses.
Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service, except where permitted by
applicable law.
Resell, sublicense, or otherwise commercially exploit the Service without our prior written consent.
Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
Using Bookbeam to reproduce or distribute copyrighted content without the rights holder's permission may
violate copyright law. You are solely responsible for ensuring your use of the Service complies with
applicable laws in your jurisdiction.
6 Your Content
When you use Bookbeam to send a web page, the extension extracts and transmits the visible text content of that
page to our servers for processing. You represent and warrant that:
You have the right to access and reproduce the content you submit to the Service.
Your use of the Service in relation to that content does not infringe any third-party intellectual property
rights or applicable laws.
We do not permanently store the article or video content you send. It is held transiently on our servers during
EPUB generation and delivery (up to 24 hours) and then deleted. We do not claim any ownership rights over the
content you send through the Service.
We are not responsible for the content of web pages or YouTube videos you choose to send. We do not review or
moderate content processed by the Service.
7 Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with third-party platforms including Google (Gemini AI, Google Drive, Google OAuth),
Dropbox, Resend, Supabase, and Polar.sh. Your use of these integrations is subject to the respective third-party
terms and privacy policies.
When you connect Dropbox or Google Drive, you authorise Bookbeam to upload EPUB files to your account on your
behalf. You can revoke this authorisation at any time by disconnecting the provider in the extension settings or
directly through the relevant provider's account settings.
We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or reliability of any third-party service, and we will
not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of or reliance on third-party services.
8 Intellectual Property
The Bookbeam extension, website, and all associated software, designs, logos, and content are owned by or
licensed to us and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the extension for
your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms. This licence does not include the right to:
Copy, modify, or distribute the extension or any part of the Service.
Use the Bookbeam name, logo, or branding without our prior written consent.
Create derivative works based on the Service.
Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights from us to you.
9 Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either
express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular
purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that:
The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
The EPUB files generated will be perfectly formatted or compatible with every e-reader device or
application.
AI-cleaned article content will be complete, accurate, or free from errors introduced during processing.
Delivery to third-party services (Dropbox, Google Drive, e-reader email) will always succeed, as this
depends on the availability of those services.
Article cleaning and YouTube transcript summarisation are performed by AI models which may produce imperfect
results. You should not rely on AI-generated summaries as the sole source of information on any topic.
10 Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental,
special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other
intangible losses, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.
Our total liability to you for any claims arising under or related to these Terms or the Service shall not
exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) €10.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liability, so some of the
above limitations may not apply to you.
11 Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the extension and, if you have an account, by
requesting account deletion at hello@bookbeam.tools.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, if:
You breach any provision of these Terms.
We are required to do so by law or a competent authority.
We decide to discontinue the Service or any part of it.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their
nature should survive termination will do so, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, and
limitations of liability.
If you have an active paid subscription at the time of termination due to a Terms violation, no refund will be
issued for the remaining subscription period.
12 Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective date"
at the top of this document and, where feasible, notify you via the extension or our website.
Your continued use of the Service after updated Terms take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised
Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service.
13 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Poland, without regard to its conflict
of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the
exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Wrocław, Poland.
If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you may also have access to the EU Online Dispute
Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
