Terms of service

These terms cover your use of Bookbeam: the Bookbeam Reader app, the web library at books.bookbeam.tools, the Bookbeam Chrome extension and this website. Bookbeam is provided by MICHAŁ WŁOSIK EFC (Michał Włosik), ul. Północna 16/5, 54-105 Wrocław, Poland ("we"). By creating an account or using Bookbeam, you agree to these terms. Your account

You need an account to sync your library. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you're responsible for what happens under your account. You must be at least 13 to use Bookbeam, or older where your local law requires it.

Your content

Books, documents, articles and notes you add stay yours. You give us permission to store, convert and deliver them only so we can run Bookbeam for you, for example turning a web page into an EPUB, syncing it to your devices or emailing it to your e-reader. You're responsible for having the right to the content you upload or send. Bookbeam is for your personal reading: don't use it to share or distribute other people's copyrighted work.

Acceptable use

Don't misuse Bookbeam: no attempts to break or overload the service, get around plan limits, access other people's accounts or data, upload malware, or use Bookbeam for anything illegal. We may suspend accounts that do.

Plans and payments

Free is free, with the monthly limits shown on our help page.
Pro is a subscription, billed monthly or yearly. It renews automatically until you cancel. Cancel at any time; you keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for.
Lifetime is a one-time purchase for as long as Bookbeam runs.
Voice Packs add read-aloud time that doesn't expire.
New accounts get a free Pro trial. When it ends you move to Free unless you choose a paid plan.

Paid plans and Voice Packs are sold only in the Bookbeam Android app. Purchases are processed by Google Play under Google Play's terms, and refunds are handled by Google Play. The web library and Chrome extension don't sell anything; a plan you buy in the app applies there too. Prices may change; changes apply from your next billing period, and we'll tell you before they do. If you're a consumer in the EU, you have the rights your local law gives you, including any statutory right of withdrawal.

Third-party services

Some features use other services you choose to connect, such as Kindle email delivery, Dropbox or Google Drive. Their own terms apply to them, and we're not responsible for how they work.

Changes and availability

We keep improving Bookbeam, so features may change. We try hard to keep the service running but can't promise it will always be available or error-free. Keep your own copies of files that matter to you.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in the app or web library settings. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. If we ever shut Bookbeam down, we'll give you notice and a way to download your files.

Liability

Bookbeam is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect losses or lost data, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.

Law

These terms are governed by Polish law. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app or by email before they apply.
